Week 3 of the Winter Challenge

How many times a day do you reach for the salt shaker without even thinking about it? The first step to controlling your salt intake is becoming aware of how much you consume. Then try slowly cutting back, if necessary. Reducing salt doesn’t have to mean reducing flavor. Instead of salt, experiment with fresh herbs and sodium-free spices, such as dill weed, rosemary, thyme, tarragon, oregano, sage, parsley, paprika, vinegar, or lemon juice. Get creative and come up with your own combinations.

Incorporating new habits into your daily life takes work, so aim for progress, not perfection! Start with small changes that you can easily fit into your daily routine and go a little further each week.
